Tommy Taylor is Vice President and Managing Consultant with Higginbotham and heads the Oklahoma City Employee Benefits practice. He is comfortable in all aspects of Benefit and HR Consulting. Tommy has extensive experience in working with employers in both the public and private sectors.
Working in either the Consulting or Agent role, Tommy and the Higginbotham teamwork to help employers craft long-term strategies, control plan cost, and provide employees with exceptional benefits. His primary expertise is management and implementation of fully insured, self-funded, and alternative funding opportunities.
Tommy began his insurance career in 1977 and along with partners Gary Graham and Jimmy Clifton, guided the Taylor, Clifton & Graham Agency until it merged with HRH in 2000. In 2006 HRH merged with Willis where he remained until 2017. In February of 2017, he joined Higginbotham along with two former Willis associates, Gray Holden and Chris LaVigne, to expand Higginbotham’s reach into the Oklahoma Marketplace.
During his time with Willis, Tommy had the opportunity to work with clients across a broad spectrum of the employer community. During his 45 years in employee benefits, he has gained experience in every major segment of the benefits industry.
Tommy obtained a degree in Mortuary Science in 1976 and his CLU in 1992. He holds the following insurance licenses; adjuster, health agents, Health consultant, and P&C agents. He has specific underwriting training for both self-funded and fully-insured plans, calculating plan funding, contract negotiations, and contract review.
In 2016 Tommy was selected into the Charter group of twenty-six consultants for the Health Rosetta. As an invitation-only organization, the Rosetta has now comprised 160 thought leaders within the nationwide benefits consulting community. https://healthrosetta.org/higginbotham/
Tommy is also a member and on the advisory board of Mitigate Partners a national organization of select consultants from across the country.
